Founded in January 2005, the Mishi Chinese Art Troupe is a non-profit comprehensive volunteer performing arts group registered in Ontario. Its purpose is to promote Chinese culture, serve the community, and cultivate and improve the comprehensive artistic talent of the majority of members. There are more than 80 members of our group, all of whom are volunteers after work. Here, we make friends, respect each other, learn from each other, help each other, and make progress together. With a strong interest and love for dance, vocal music and other arts, under the guidance of professional teachers, after unremitting efforts, he has rehearsed vocal works such as chorus, duet, duet, performance singing and other vocal music works in the past few years, and rehearsed a large number of excellent plays in different styles including Chinese folk dance, Chinese classical dance, modern dance, etc., forming his own fresh, healthy, lively and upward performance style. Although we do not have the sweet and pure timbre of a singer, although we are just babbling, we interpret the wonder of life with our loud singing voice and spread the friendship of all ethnic groups. Although we do not have the exquisite skills of dancers, although we are just a dreamer wandering in the art world, we show off our personality and reflect our vitality with beautiful dance postures!
We also have Tai Chi that combines rigidity and softness, colorful and charming fashion, enthusiastic and unrestrained waist drums, and opera that is very characteristic of Chinese culture. We also have a group of professional teachers and directors, who provide solid support and strong guarantees, so that the overall level has been improved to varying degrees.
In the community, we maintain harmony with other groups, communicate well, perform on the same stage many times, learn from each other’s skills, and promote development together.
We have also held various lectures many times, and sincerely invite friends from all walks of life to participate in promoting community development. Organize children’s chorus of all ethnic groups to inherit Chinese culture.
After 6 years of sowing, watering, and growth, from scratch, from small to large, we have participated in dozens of public welfare performances every year, such as National Day, Multicultural Festival, Police-Civilian Fun Day, Chinese Art Gathering Mi City and other community festivals, and often raise funds for nursing homes, schools and disaster areas, and have participated in the New Year’s performance of the mayor of Michigan, Hamilton City, Rolia and Mississauga over the years, which are very popular with audiences of different ethnic groups. In the past six years, the art troupe has independently held special variety shows for many times, which fully demonstrates the gradual maturity of the troupe in organization and art. It has successfully held large-scale Chinese New Year’s parties independently for many times, with a magnificent opening dance, an enthusiastic folk dance, a dashing and majestic waist drum, a graceful peacock dance, and …… More than 1,200 people in the audience applauded for a long time for the beautiful dance posture and exquisite art, which was widely praised.
Canadian City Television had an exclusive interview with the art troupe and broadcast it on CCTV 4’s “Chinese World”. Tibetan dance “Auspicious Ballad”, won the “Outstanding Art Award” of the Toronto Dance Friendship Competition. As the only invited Chinese group to participate in the 2010 Winter Olympics Torch Relay Celebration in Michigan.
Due to its remarkable performance in serving the community, the art troupe has received relevant funding from the Mishi Arts Committee since 2009.
